The museum has published online the first part of theCatalog of the public sales of paintings and drawings by Eugène Delacroix,focusing on the period between 1824 and 1975.
This database is the result of an inventory, compiledfrom the sales catalogs held by French public collections, of the paintings anddrawings of Eugène Delacroix put up for sale since 1824.
It will enable researchers and collectors toreconstruct the history of the artist’s works and to determine the successiveowners.
Available online since winter 2003, this databasecurrently covers the period up to 1975. The data continues to be processedactively and is updated on a regular basis.
