Booking a time slot is strongly recommended, even for visitors entitled to free admission. This can be done:
- through the museum online ticketing service, or
- at the museum ticket office (subject to availability)

Opening hours

The museum is closed for renovation work from September 19, 2023 to March 19, 2024.
Reopening on March 20, 2024 with a new exhibition entitled “Ingres and Delacroix, Objects of Artists"
- Night opening until 9 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month

Closed on January 1, May 1 and December 25

- holders of a Louvre membership card
- members of the Société des Amis du Musée Delacroix and the Société des Amis du Louvre
- job seekers and people on income support
- visitors with disabilities and the person accompanying them

Admission to the museum is free for all visitors on the first Sunday of the month, as well as on Bastille Day (July 14).
