Following on from the Société des Amis d’Eugène Delacroix, founded in the late 1920s to save the painter’s final studio from destruction and convert it into a museum, the Société des Amis du Musée Eugène-Delacroix was created in 2000 to support the museum’s activity and development.
Since its inception, the Société des Amis du Musée Eugène-Delacroix has continuously and generously contributed to the growth of the museum’s collection. In 2002, it facilitated the donation of collections still held by the founding Société, thus enabling the museum to assemble an initial, noteworthy set of the artist’s prints and memorabilia he brought back from his voyage to Morocco.
The Société des Amis du Musée Eugène-Delacroix holds visits and conferences for its members on a regular basis. By becoming a member, you support the Musée Delacroix and benefit from free admission, along with other advantages and preferential rates.
In connection with the museum and its team, the Société des Amis du Musée National Eugène-Delacroix publishes a bulletin, which is sent free of charge to all members.
